We extend the reach of TestVQ.com and deliver e-learning and assessment direct to mobile phones with examples of Highway Code Quizzes, Health and Safety knowledge checks and Food Hygiene tests. Another example of our leading edge development through the use of emerging technology.

We move onto the web

Our clients increase their internet capability so we develop TestVQ.com an online eassessment portal that receives great support from colleges and training providers. Soon after, 75% off all Hospitality colleges in the UK are using the system to deliver their NVQ’s.

Expanding services

Award launches new e-assessment services for the Hospitality, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy training sectors and now distributes them on CD-ROM. Award demonstrates a radical new approach towards student portfolio building with their first e-portfolio at the BETT exhibition at Olympia.

Business gets official

Our fledgling company, Award Learning Services, became the first company in the UK to provide computer based assessments that lead to an NVQ qualification. Distributed on 3.5 inch floppy disc, these motor vehicle assessments were approved by both City & Guilds and the Institute of the Motor Industry and were marketed as the Knowledge Assessor and Progress Manager.

The beginning

Whilst a head of school in a UK college our founder developed a computer based method to help his lecturers cope with the increased paperwork and administrative demands that the introduction of NVQ’s brought as their roles changed from lecturer, to assessor.
